Since Mac's OS is based on Debian, could something like this work?

Mac OS X is not based on Debian, instead, it is based on BSD..
It is possible to run GuildWars with Cedega or Wine on Linux, but the graphics are not that good (I have to run it with DirectX 8) and do not perform as good as on Windows. Native OpenGL support of GuildWars would be really nice.

Would have been easier if Anet had used OpenGL for GW, but I guess its too late now.

Yeah, btw, Blizzard offers both, OpenGL and DirectX support.

With each new release of Cedega, new features are added to make it look a lot better. When my friend first tried it, it looked terrible (really bad water effects), but a recent update added some more features and it looks great. There are a few things about it that still aren't perfect, but if they continue going in the direction they are going in, it should only get better.
As for the performance, I never really noticed it ran bad since his computer is so good. I'd have to try it out on one of my computers to know for sure. Do a Windows/Linux FPS comparison.
